Can you please clarify the amount of butter used in this recipe. Butter is listed twice – 1/2 cup and 3/4 cup. I assume the 1/2 cup is used in the cake and the 3/4 cup is to be put in the topping………but then in the instructions you say add 1 cup butter to topping ingredients………can you please clarify this for me. It looks delicious and I want to make it for a new neighbor that will be moving across the street from me soon. Appreciate a quick response! Thanks!
I just made this today…I made cupcakes instead of the 3-layer cake. I followed the ingredients exactly as written. These were truly Amazing! The best I have ever made and… I make many! After having great success with your chocolate cake, I knew this would be a winner too! Thanks so much for the recipe and your hard work trying to figure out what really works! Have a great day!
A pet peeve of mine is when you share a great recipe and someone makes all kinds of changes, then complains that it wasn’t good. Create your own recipe instead of ruining someone else’s. This white cake recipe sounds wonderful just the way it is!
Succulent pork loin chops are paired brilliantly with slices of tart apple cooked in a satin-smooth sauce of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. A few chopped pecans over the top make this a delectable autumn entree.
Hi. I have made the sauce and want to put it together but I’m not sure how to handle the noodles or sheets as I want to bake it for tomorrow nights’ dinner party. At this point, I’m thinking of just refrigerating it all until tomorrow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m with you Marsha! I enjoy baking from scratch. Box cakes have ingredients that I can even pronounce and its so funny that so many recipes these days have instructions on how to make a box cake taste better. Just make it from scratch people!
I just have to say – I made this today for dinner (and to freeze the remainder since I’m 38+ weeks pregnant!) and man was it good. My husband LOVED it. I made the changes you suggested… and it was perfect. Thanks for sharing!!
Cook the lasagna noodles in plenty of boiling salted water until pliable and barely tender, about 10 minutes. Stir with a wooden spoon to prevent sticking. Drain the noodles thoroughly and coat with olive oil to keep them moist and easy to work with.

This one-pan dish is as impressive as it is easy to make. Once you complete this hearty dish of savory apples and whipped cream, you’ll also finish with a side and a sauce all-in-one. The Granny Smith apples add sweet notes to the otherwise savory flavor profile, and pull richness from the bourbon. Out of bourbon? Just use scotch or whiskey as a replacement. When you stir in the liquor into the hot sauce, you’ll immediately see the alcohol evaporate from the pan. Be sure to brown the chops well so they’ll give the mustardy pan sauce deep flavor.
In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Heat the remaining oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dust the meatballs lightly with flour, shaking off excess, and lay into the hot oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides (do not cook through) and transfer to the sauce.
Really – that’s what you get from this? I bake to release stress, my co-workers and others benefit from the stress relief in more ways than can be counted. To be able to have the company of a loved one is just an added bonus. Just because we love food doesn’t mean overweight.. So, I’m going to save this because I love lemon, baking, and stress relief. Great combo.

Did you know it’s National Lasagna Day on Sunday? If not, no worries, I’m sharing our family’s favorite easy lasagna recipe today! My mom makes Lasagna for the family all the time. It’s one of those meals that the entire family loves. It can usually feed us all too, which is a bonus since the family is pretty large. Not sure how that will be in a few years when there are even more kids, but I’m sure we’ll have to start doubling today’s easy lasagna recipe soon. 😉
One of my favourite standby meals for pork, these Oven Baked Pork Chops are slathered in a tasty country-style rub using ingredients I bet you have in your pantry, then baked until golden and sticky. Add some baked potatoes, and you’ve got a fabulous one tray meal.

Hi Erica! Thank you for the question and sorry that wasn’t clear. You should thaw in the fridge (you should always thaw things in the fridge for food safety, no matter what it is, rather than just at room temperature). In your case, I’d pull it out of the freezer on Tuesday night and put it in the fridge so it will have 24 hours before you bake it Wednesday night. You should be in good shape! Just make sure you bake it to 165 degrees. You’ll be all set. Thank you Erica!
Pat 4 center-cut pork chops dry with paper towel; sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper. In 10-inch skillet, heat 2 tablespoons canola oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Cook pork chops in oil about 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove from skillet.

A sour-cream based sauce is what makes these pork chops creamy and extra-delicious. Our Creamy Pork Chops only take 20 minutes to make in your skillet, so you can enjoy this pork chop recipe any day of the week!
Serve the pork chops with potatoes and a side vegetable for a everyday meal. Bone-in chops offer the most flavor but feel free to use boneless in the recipe. Country-style ribs are another excellent option. If the chops or ribs are quite thick, adjust the cooking time accordingly.
When making a a vanilla cake,  I highly recommend lining the bottom of the cake pan with parchment paper. This prevents a thicker crust forming on the bottom as well as ensures that your cake will come out of the pan in one piece. I have used both butter and nonstick cooking spray to grease my pans for this recipe and I do not flour the pan. Both work great.
Note that the picture above shows the cake cut into 9 servings, instead of the 16 frosted servings noted in the nutritional information. We thought it simply looked better cut that way; but we encourage you to serve it in 2″ squares, which yields 16 servings.
