Since these are filled with oats and two kinds of chocolate, it’s no wonder readers give these cookies all-around rave reviews. And so they should, since their name says it all: double chip. In this case, a mix of semisweet chocolate morsels and peanut butter morsels is mixed into dough that also includes a cup of crunchy peanut butter—in case there was any chance that this would not be nutty enough. The granola with almonds is simply an exclamation point on the end of that delicious idea. Once everything is together, and in the oven, the aroma is simply overwhelming. These bake quickly, so they will be ready in a jiffy, and you’ll be ready to enjoy them too.
Yours was the first recipe that popped up when I searched ‘oven meatballs’ in Pinterest and I’m so very glad it did. These meatballs are delicious, full of flavor, quick and easy. These are the first oven meatballs I will be making again!
[…] These are my husband’s very favorite cookies. His mom has been making them for him for ages and this is her recipe. I’d never had a homemade version of this cookie until after we got married… sure I’d had the Subway Chocolate White Chocolate Chip Cookies, but these are so different and more delicious than those! Isn’t it funny how some things are “normal” recipes to people and they are completely new and novel to others. Where do you stand? Do you make these cookies at home? Well, if you don’t that’s about to change because they are so easy and so tasty. Plus it’s fun to take a little break from your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. […]
I got this recipe from my aunt when I was a teen and have made these miniature loaves many times since. My husband and three children count this main dish among their favorites. —Kathy Bowron, Cocolalla, Idaho
When all else fails, the easiest way to get into the St. Patrick’s Day mood is to make something green. From minty cupcakes to enchiladas verdes to chimichurri, there’s plenty of delicious ways to liven up a meal with a pop of bright green color.
He’d complain and say, “Spaghetti again?” or say he was already too full and then make a peanut butter and jelly on the side.  Luckily for him, I didn’t take it too personally because I could see his point. But I didn’t know what else to do. Money was tight and I wasn’t sure what else to serve him that was both easy AND affordable.
Thank you. I just wanted to check if pre browning the meatballs is best. I’m doing them with tagliatelle. I’ll let you know how they turn out. I bought meatballs from the supermarket that are a mix of pork and beef. They look nice enough although I would usually make meatballs myself. However, these were so cheap and convenient that I thought why not.

My husband liked it, he gave it three (3) stars. I did not care for it. The only taste that stuck out was the worchestershire sauce. That’s the only thing I tasted besides that, I thought it to be quite bland. I made it as directed but used greek yogurt as the recipe stated it could be substituted. Peoples taste are different so the thing to do is try it. My husband gets the leftovers. I doubled the receipt.
In most of the ground beef recipes for the slow cooker, want to brown the meat ahead of time, so that your food is not cooking in grease the whole day.  Of course, things like meat loaf and patties that can’t be browned ahead of time, as easily, it’s OK to do in the slow cooker, just select a leaner style beef, or put a rack or foil balls underneath so that the meat isn’t frying in it’s own grease all day.
A friend gave me the recipe for these cookies many years ago, and they’re as delicious as the ones Mom used to make. The secret to the recipe is to measure exactly (no guessing on the amounts) and to not overbake. —Wendy Coalwell, Abbeville, Georgia
Scallops, with their delicately sweet and briny flavor, are a wonderful addition to pasta when they’re not overpowered by other ingredients, as here, where leeks, lemon, and tarragon enhance their natural appeal.
You don’t even have to be in Mississippi to enjoy these because this great recipe brings these wonderful flavors anywhere. Yummy ingredients from the popular drink—chocolate, espresso, and whipping cream—make a splash in these decadent bars filled with chopped pecans and garnished with chocolate-covered espresso beans. These also do a little tippling: a few tablespoons of coffee liqueur and vodka both make an appearance in the recipe. You’ll love the distinctive flavors of both. And yes, those chopped chocolate-covered espresso coffee beans push this over the top. Serving this with a cup of coffee is optional.
Hi, sounds great and the reviews are excellent so thinking of making this in a few minutes, of you answer me quickly enough…😄. Do you drain the ground beef once browned, before adding the sauce mixture??
I love this recipe. I did one thing differently INSTEAD of plain salt I used MONTANA. MEX”S SWEET SEASONING with sea salt, orange , cinnamon and ginger…all of his seasonings are wonderful… check out his website.
Oh man, you know a meatball is good when you can get your one-and-a-half year old toddler to devour them. If you put these meatballs on one side of the room, and her prized Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal on the other, I’m fairly certain that she’d choose the meatballs. Well played, Bobby Flay… well played.
What you are making are not Swedish Meatballs. If you check on line you will see that almost all recipes for Swedish Meatballs have ground pork and ground beef and also most importantly it always has allspice, nutmeg and ginger or a combination of them. What you have given us is a recipe for meatballs, not Swedish. The spice is what makes them distinctive. I have been making my grandmother’s recipe for over 50 years. Please try one of the recipes with allspice and you will see how good they can be.
What makes this peanut butter cookie recipe The Best? Well, there’s a few reasons actually. We call for natural peanut butter so that you can dial the sugar and salt amounts exactly. Instead of just adding roasted peanuts from the can, we roast them a second time for even more peanutty flavor. And the pan of water in the oven creates a burst of steam that gives the finished cookies the perfect crunchy-chewy texture. Now you know! This is part of BA’s Best, a collection of our essential recipes.
1. Cooking meatballs in the sauce alone can make them mushy. I recommend putting them under a broiler for about 5 minutes, turn over once and broil for another 5 minutes first before you add them to the sauce. Broiling adds a nice brown color and enough crisp to prevent mushiness
