Rave Review: “This is the best lo mein I’ve ever made. Some other reviewers said there was not enough sauce. Personally, I feel it was just enough. Any more sauce and it would have been too saucy. Lo mein isn’t typically “saucy” like some other Chinese dishes.” – Teri
Easy wins again! I’m on day 6 of an 8 day work week, so that means two things: I’m tired and I’m hungry. Quick skillet pasta dishes like this Creamy Tomato and Spinach Pasta are perfect for such an occasion. They require only a few ingredients, cook up super fast, and leave me feeling full and happy! 🙂
“I rely on this tried-and-true recipe during the holidays,” relates Sandy McKenzie of Braham, Minnesota. “The cream cheese frosting complements the cookies’ gingery flavor and sets up nicely for easy packaging and stacking.”
It tends to be hot in my kitchen, and I didn’t have any issues with the batter getting too warm between batches. If you notice the cookies start to bake out, definitely throw it back in the fridge, but I would guess that it should be ok! =)
Absolutely delicious meatball recipe! I’ve never been a fan because I’ve always ended up with dense, dry meatballs. But these were light and wonderfully seasoned with the inclusion of the cheese. I thought I had made enough for anither meal of leftovers. My company cleaned up the entire bowl! I didn’t use the tomatoe sauce recipe. I make and preserve my own each Year. But a must keep meatball recipe for sure.
Do you love chicken parmesan, but don’t love all the dishes that come with it?  Then this is the dish for you!  One pot, 30 minutes!  The pasta cooks in the pot with all the sauce and chicken, making it super flavorful!

We typically serve this over egg noodles but it’s great over rice, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes or even spooned into a roll sloppy joe style!  Add a side salad and a loaf of crusty bread sop up any sauce left on your plate) for a great meal in under 30 minutes!
“This recipe will definitely be on repeat!” praises reviewer heidz23. “Sometimes eating something like lasagna leaves you feeling heavy, but this is a great, lightened version that is just as flavorful.”
I made this tonight. It was definitely NOT greasy. It was very good, but I think next time I won’t put it in sans foil. It was delicious, but the meat was slightly more cooked than I normally like. The boyfriend loved it though, so it’s all a matter of preference, I guess. That said, it was super easy to make and very good. I’ll definitely do it again.
Made these according to recipe. Will definitely leave the rice out next time. Otherwise, good flavor. Maybe amend the recipe to not include rice? I think it would stick fine with the egg and flour alone. Still added rice because I thought maybe you were on to something!
Our editor grew up making these family-favorite Pumpkin Cookies every fall, and the smell still reminds her of her mother’s kitchen. You can top off the frosting with a single candy corn, a pecan, or colored sprinkles or put two cookies together to make whoopie pies. Family, friends, and neighbors alike will go nuts over these sweet-spiced Pumpkin Cookies!
Fast forward twenty years…and plenty of experimentation and I’ve found that I can make a lot of other foods with ground beef that aren’t much harder than spaghetti and still satisfy the diversity that my husband craves at meal time.
Very finely chopping onion, mushrooms and carrots in the food processor is not only fast–it makes the vegetables hard to detect for picky eaters. They also form the base for the sauce of this ground beef skillet supper. Make it a meal: Serve with a green salad.
Hello! I just made these cookies. First batch got a lil overcooked resulting in crunchy cookies instead of chewy ones. Second is in the oven right now. Hopefully I’ll get them right this time. I followed the recipe to the tee. I just feel them quite sugary to my taste so I’ll reduce the sugar next time. Thank you for this recipe.
I am an avid cookie baker (I make 28 types at Christmas). I made these with what I had on hand – about 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips and about 3 oz. of a semi-sweet bar chopped. Using my small scoop It made 40 cookies. They were FABULOUS!!! I have a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. Thank you so much.
This was pretty terrific, especially for how easy and quick it was to prepare. I used proportions that varied a bit from the original, such as more onion and garlic, more Worcestershire, plus I had to use chicken stock, so I added a generous tablespoon or so of “Better than Bouillion” in beef flavor (so did not add any other salt) I felt it all took a bit longer than the stated times, by perhaps an extra 10-20 minutes or so. But still, it was fast enough and easy, and I happened to have thin spaghetti noodles, so that’s what I served it over. We all loved it and wanted more…alas…
These easy-to-fix recipes with ground beef are endlessly satisfying and delicious. We have casseroles, pastas, burgers, enchiladas, chili, and — of course — meat loaf. Just pull a package from your freezer and start cooking a ground beef recipe.
SO glad that you liked it! I have found the best way to get nutritional info on all of the recipes is through MyFitnessPal.com. You just type in the recipe and it tells you! Skinnytaste.com is also a great resource for healthy and delicious meals and provides nutritional info. Hope this helps! XOXO
A meaty Bolognese needs a chance to reduce just a little as it cooks to concentrate flavors, and the Dutch oven allows for that, even with the lid on. This method also lets layers of flavors come through, as bacon, ground meat, and veggies are all browned in the same pot, then deglazed with cooking liquid.
Combine sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir until preserves/jelly melts. Allow to come to a boil for 1 minute. Toss with meatballs and allow to simmer on low 10-15 minutes.
These cookies were awesome! I tripled the recipe, added a large box of vanilla pudding, 3 1/2 C of choc chips, and baked at 375 for9 min after rolling the refrigerated dough into a ball and lightly pushed each ball down on the silicone sheet. Turned out great!
Family really enjoyed this recipe……I did make a number of minor substitutions though….didn’t use low/no salt items, used dried basil instead of fresh (1/3 of what was called for), tomato sauce in place of the strained tomatoes (they were ridiculously expensive).  Liked the processing of the carrot and onion – allowed me to “hide” veggies (always good).  Found that the finished product still lacked a little salt, and the serving size was at least 2 cups per person which was more than most of us could eat!  Will definitely make again.
Of course fresh mushrooms are best and while this recipe calls for white mushrooms, I’ve used a combination of white, cremini or portobello all with great results. In a pinch, you can use canned mushrooms as well.
Question: I bought some ground beef yesterday and it was a bright red color. When I opened the package today, the center was more brownish-gray. It’s been refrigerated the whole time. Is it still safe?
This flavorful chicken dinner comes together in a flash! Smoky chicken tenders are pan seared in butter then served with a decadent sauce over zoodles. I can get this on the table in 30 minutes or less, so it’s the perfect dinner for a busy night.I can almost promise that you’ll catch someone desperately scraping the last bits of sauce out of the pan. The ingredient list might look simple at first glance, but it’s that good. It’s a little spicy, so feel free to omit or decrease the …
Swapping out mayonnaise in favor of lime juice and shallots is a simple change, but its impact gives this healthy chicken salad recipe a light, fresh feel. For more color, try swapping in a bit of red cabbage for the green.
As luck would have it, I actually forgot to add the milk last week when making a quadruple batch of these (!!) and they turned out just fine. You could substitute chicken broth to make up for some of the flavor that the Parmesan would contribute. Hope that helps and that the modified version is much enjoyed!
Food Network Kitchen took the best part of this classic soup — all the sweet caramelized onions — and left behind all the fat. Steam onions to get the caramelization started, then sprinkle with a little grated Gruyere just before serving.
Nothing says summer in the South quite like peaches, and of course we think everything goes better with bacon, so the Bacon, Peach, and Basil Burgers are a fresh-off-the-fire sensation. We recommend ground sirloin here because it’s lean, which causes fewer flare-ups on the grill. Chopped pickled jalapeños and their juice ramp up the flavor, while bacon, and tangy-sweet chutney balance the heat. Soft and creamy goat cheese, an unexpected addition, adds just the right amount of smooth flavor to these amazingly balanced burgers.
Use crushed whole grain tortilla chips instead of plain breadcrumbs to flavor this juicy meatloaf and help it hold its shape as it bakes. We love chipotle salsa for its medium heat and smoky notes, but any salsa and heat level will give the meatloaf fantastic south-of-the-border flavor. Mixing in cheddar cheese also gives this meatloaf extra bite, so be prepared for sensational flavors. Make a tasty meatloaf sandwich, or serve a slice alongside Tex-Mex Mashers.
